Continuously blend between styles in real time.

Cross-fade between styles

The Style Blend slider allows you to cross fade between two different play styles, as you can see by clicking the image above. The play style on the top of the slider represents the main play style, the one you select in the styles panel. Click the drop-down menu on the bottom of the Style Blend slider to select from the available choices that designate a different play style on the bottom of the slider.

Players use less vibrato when playing softly

String players tend to play with more vibrato as they play loud and with less vibrato as they play soft. In DVZ’s preferences you can couple the Volume slider to the Style Blend slider so that you hear this natural shift between vibrato and non-vibrato as you play louder and softer. To help you quickly achieve this natural performance quality, we made non-vibrato the factory default choice for the bottom of the Style Blend slider.

Blend between totally different styles

Another use of the Style Blend slider is to place completely different play styles at the top and bottom of the slider. For example, if you select Tremolando at the bottom of this slider, when you move the slider down and up while holding notes you will hear a smooth transition between Vibrato and Tremolando. This is particularly useful for tense musical moments. You can also go from Pizzicato to Tremolando as shown in the animated image, and so forth.
