DVZ Virtual Keyboards
DVZ Virtual Keyboards allow you to select play ranges and transpositions
Keys appear in red as you play notes and DVZ assigns them to section stems. This lets you see, in real time, exactly how DVZ is working. When you change the state of the Coupler and Octave Transpose buttons for each section, the red keys will change appropriately so you always know what’s going on. Coupling is borrowed from the pipe organ console whereby you play your keyboard and the stem set in coupling Up or Down will duplicate the lower and or upper octaves of the instrument’s play ranges.
Coupling is especially useful to get a very lush sound since it fills in any gaps between instrument play ranges automatically. Stem play ranges themselves are adjustable as indicated by the light blue “curtains” on the GUI. The dark blue areas block off the upper and lower limits of each sampled section’s range beyond which you cannot open the adjustable range curtains.
Since Bass play one octave below written, it can be useful to transpose the bass stem one octave down. You can instantly do this using the Octave Transpose arrows (up or down) at the right of each stem’s virtual keyboard.
